ADVANCED BLACKSMITHING CLASSESSponsored by The 55 Acre Project Prerequisite: Successful Completion of Blacksmithing 101.
Register for Level 1, 2, 3 at:Level 1, 2, 3 and Open Forge require a coal fee of $30 payable to the Instructor on the day of class. Level 1: BASIC
Level 2: APPRENTICEPrerequisite: Completion of Level 1. Level 2 is more technical with added intermediate to advanced scrollwork and a focus on tooling and collaring for Level 2 Grille certification. Level 3: JOURNEYMANPrerequisite: Completion of Level 2. Level 3 is held monthly as a grille workshop where techniques and tooling required to complete the CBA Level 3 grille to spec. Open ForgePrerquisite: Completion of Blacksmithing 101. Open Forge allows students to come and complete their projects outside of the class. Available to current museum members who have completed Blacksmithing 101 or Youth Paired on any day that a class is held at the forge. Check in with an instructor upon arrival. ELECTIVESSeveral elective classes are held throughout the year that teach a project outside the CBA curriculum. More information can be obtained at the Vista Forge website. BLACKSMITH EXPERIENCEThe "Blacksmith Experience" workshops are a great way to foster creativity and collaboration for your group.
