Steam Traction Engines

This exhibit is available for viewing Wednesday-Sunday, but only operational during Special Events.

These Steam Traction Engines are a part of the American industrial revolution. Tractors replaced the horse for the heaviest work on the American farm and allowed a farmer to work much larger farms than they could with horse thus able  to produce more food for a growing population. They could be bought new from about 1860 through 1924.
